BIG BAND BLAGOEVGRAD

Big Band Blagoevgrad is a municipal cultural institute of the municipality of Blagoevgrad, established as an orchestra in 1993 by conductor Boris Yanev. Its concert activity includes participation in 12 editions of the International Jazz Festival in Bansko, 8 editions of Blues & Jazz-Fest Blagoevgrad, 2 editions of the International Jazz Festival in Niš-Serbia, 2 editions of the International Jazz Festival “Dr. Emil Iliev” in Borovets. Over the years, guest soloists of the band have been Janice Harrington – USA, Greig Bailey – USA, Angel Zaberski, Vasil Petrov, Kamelia Todorova, Hilda Kazasyan, Yildiz Ibrahimova, Petar Salchev, Hristo Yotsov, Mihail Yosifov, Ventsislav Blagoev, Velislav Stoyanov, etc. Permanent soloists of the band are Hristina Katsarska, Mariyana Kostova, Lachezar Katsarski and Milan Georgiev.

The musicians from the Blagoevgrad Big Band, conducted by Boris Yanev and the soloists Hristina Katsarska and Mariyana Kostova, will present pieces created by composers of contemporary and classical jazz music from all over the world.
