KЕUBITBIT

The uniqueness of the band lies in the blend of timbres from percussions and the seurune kale (Aceh’s flute), combined with the melodies and colors of Middle Eastern music. The special touch of fast singing techniques and the use of diverse rhythms give “Keubitbit”’s performances a fascinating presence. Rapa’i (Aceh’s percussion instrument) and seurune kale are used to enhance the authentic character of the band’s songs, and when combined with modern instruments, they create a perfect harmony.
“Keubitbit” hails from Jakarta and was formed in June 2014. The name “Keubitbit” is derived from the Aceh language and means “Solemnity.” The band has released three albums and three singles. In 2020, Keubitbit won the Ami Award for Best World Music Production with the song “Saban Sabee.”
