Mirela is the author of nine poetry books, with some of the most famous being “Lonely Game,” “Memory for Details,” “Disassembly of the Toys,” “Eclectics,” and “Seven.” She has also published two collections of short stories and two volumes of journalistic texts.<\/p>\n
Her poetry has been translated into many languages and published in various poetry collections and representative anthologies of Bulgarian and European poetry and prose. Mirela has received numerous Bulgarian literary awards, including the Award for Modern Poetry from Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, the National Award “Hristo G. Danov,” the Sofia Literature Award, the “Nikolai Kanchev” Award, and the “Peroto” Award for “SEDEM. Poems (with) Biographies.”<\/p>\n
She has participated in many prestigious European literary forums such as “Europe Writes,” “Donumenta,” and others. In 2008, she received a one-year writer\u2019s grant from the Bavarian Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n
At the end of 2022, Mirela was nominated for the prestigious “European Poet of Freedom” award. Mirela Ivanova has worked for more than fifteen years as the director of the National Museum “Ivan Vazov” in Sofia.
